Legal Ramifications Of Kuwaiti Passengers' Airport Drug Nightmare
As a result of a drug experiment conducted by Kuwaiti youths while they traveled in Thailand, they were imprisoned in Kuwait after being caught with drugs at Kuwait International Airport.
Since certain drugs are legal and publicly sold in Thailand, these individuals, who were unaware of the legal nuances, faced legal consequences upon returning to Kuwait.
Drugs became a part of the defendants' lives as an experiment during their trip to Thailand, they shared their experiences. However, they found themselves unable to stop or break free from it, ultimately bringing the drugs back to Kuwait. One of the accused, a 24-year-old girl, unknowingly carried drugs hidden inside her makeup kit and was apprehended at the airport.
According to the second accused, he started with a hashish cigarette, gradually progressing to narcotic pills after being influenced by certain aspects of Thai nightlife. Unable to quit, he carried drugs concealed in his pants upon returning from Thailand. The third accused, not realizing the substances were drugs, purchased them officially, believing they were sweets due to their legal status in Thailand, and brought them back to Kuwait in their bag.
Kuwait's Criminal Court detained them after their confessions.
