Large Turnout To Donate Blood, People Vaccinated With Pfizer Can Also Donate

The Central Blood Bank witnessed a large turnout of people willing to donate blood during the partial curfew Hours. This turnout was in response to the bank’s parliament announcement of its need for donors from the A and O groups, Al Qabas reported.

The Blood Bank called on citizens and residents who have received the vaccine against Coronavirus to apply for a donation, indicating that those who received the Pfizer vaccine can donate blood without a delay, while those who received the Oxford vaccine must wait 14 days after the dose until they can donate blood.

The bank works throughout the day to receive donors for a period of 13 hours, starting at 7 in the morning until 8 at night, and those wishing to donate can book an appointment in advance and obtain a security clearance, and the blood bank can be visited on Friday from 1 in the afternoon until 7 in the evening, and on Saturday from 7 am until 7 pm.

The daily also reported that the blood bank during the hours of the ban,30 citizens and residents visited the blood bank to donate blood between 5 pm to 6 pm

When the donors were asked about the reason for their willingness to donate blood, they said they responded to calls made on social media by some patients in intensive care rooms.

Another group of donors came based on an invitation from the hospital, to donate blood for the people dear to them and in need of blood transfusions.
