Kuwaitis Rank 3rd In Halal Tourism Expenditures - 2017
A study issued by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry revealed that Kuwaitis ranked third internationally after the Emiratis and Saudis in ‘halal’ tourism expenditures for the year 2017, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The study was based on data from Mastercard and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), stating that Kuwaitis spent $10.7 billion for ‘halal’ tourism last year, while Emiratis spent $17.6 billion and Saudis spent $16.1 billion.
The study revealed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to top the list in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in terms of providing better and competitive environment for investment in travel and tourism, and it is equipped with advanced technology while providing better infrastructure for air transportation in the world.
It explained that due to the increase in individual of income, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries topped the list of Muslim tourist income based on foreign expenditure. On the other hand, South East Asia continues to dominate the Muslim tourist index (number of Muslim tourists) due to growth of the middle class in highly populated countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia.
