Kuwaiti Tourists Wooed By Chinese Envoy
Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Zhang Jianwei confirmed that the Chinese Embassy intends to open a window of communication between the Chinese and Kuwaiti peoples through diverse cultural experiences and delicious Chinese cuisine in a bid to renew traditional friendship and enhance mutual understanding between them; stressing the importance of introducing the Kuwaiti people to Chinese culture and developing diplomacy through culture, communication and friendship between peoples, reports Al-Qabas daily. During the opening of the Chinese Culture and Food Festival at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center recently, Jianwei said: “We witnessed a huge turnout of attendees who showed their interest in Chinese food and music.
This reflects the ancient Chinese civilization and the depth of distinguished relations between the two countries, especially after the successful visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to China last September.” Affirming that the Chinese government welcomes more foreign tourists, he revealed the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait has taken new measures to facilitate the travel of Kuwaitis to his country. He expressed happiness over the remarkable increase in the number of Kuwaiti tourists who visited China, indicating their number reached thousands last year. He added: “There are four flights a week from Kuwait to China. We welcome more Kuwaiti tourists to China, as our country is rich in culture, resources and a variety of halal cuisine. The Chinese people are hospitable and generous. Our Kuwaiti friends feel safe in China and this is very important.”
