Kuwaiti Jewel Thief Released
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has released the wealthy Kuwaiti woman who was caught after she stole a diamond ring, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The source said the woman was released on bail after she returned the stolen diamond ring and paid 10,000 dinars to the shop in ‘damages’ after he waived his right to pursue two cases which were filed against her.
The source said the suspect was referred for investigations after committing her last crime. She was arrested in the parking lot of one of the commercial complexes in downtown Kuwait City as she got behind her expensive vehicle.
She was taken to a police station and during interrogation she confessed to committing the theft and handed police the stolen diamond ring which she was wearing.
According to sources, the woman fainted during investigation and was unable to deny the charges. She said she suffering from kleptomania in spite of her immense wealth.
She added, she wants to stand tall in society and spends a lot of money during her appearances at social events. During her interrogation she said she did not expect to be arrested because of her modus operandi
