Kuwait Airways Eyes Many Places, Set To Increase Flights
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved the resumption of fl ights to Georgia this summer with two airlines – Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways – operating two flights each per week, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources confirmed these national airlines have started the pre-booking process for those planning to travel to Georgia and Sarajevo.
Sources said Kuwait Airways will resume its flights to Georgia on June 18 with indicative prices starting from KD 150 for the economy class. Sources added the reservation for Sarajevo flights has been opened and flights will start in July with indicative prices reaching KD 300 for the economy class. Sources revealed the DGCA intends to open many summer destinations in order to start the gradual operation of flights to these destinations next month, indicating these destinations will be announced soon.
Sources clarified the resumption of flights depends on the global epidemiological situation in line with the ongoing efforts to protect the health system in the country. Sources confirmed as well that the DGCA is currently studying the possibility of increasing the number of arriving passengers per day, excluding the domestic workers. Sources said the number of arrivals is set at 5,000 daily now; stressing the decision to increase this number depends on coronavirus related developments globally and the epidemiological situation in other countries.
