Ksc Announced That Kuwait Will Witness Meteor Showers
Department of Astronomy and Space at Kuwait Science Club (KSC) announced that Kuwait will witness meteor showers (Perseids) at a rate of 100 Perseids per hour next Saturday. The skies of Kuwait will be adorned with meteor showers that will be at its peak on Saturday.
The department explained that the Perseids can be seen with the naked eye without the need for telescopes or monitoring devices. The meteor showers will light up the skies of Kuwait at night and will continue from midnight to sunrise on Sunday morning.
;They will be relatively close to the eastern horizon, gradually rising up in the sky over time. The comet that causes the meteor showers is the “Swift Tuttle”, which completes its orbit around the sun in 133 years. The last time this comet was detected was in December 1992. It is one of the largest known comets that repeatedly pass near the Planet Earth.
