Kpc Tender Request Rejected
The State Audit Bureau rejected the request of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) to award a tender worth of KD 2.47 million to a local company, reports Al-Anba daily.
The tender was for the provision of manpower in the security and safety of the oil sector complex and the Petroleum Training Center.
The request was rejected in order to allow the appointment of willing citizens to work in the profession under the job title of “firefighter”.
The source explained to the daily that the State Audit Bureau rejected KPC’s requests, despite the fact that it relied on the tender to fill these job vacancies and KPC needs those workers as soon as possible.
However, the State Audit Bureau also based its rejection of the tender on the fact that there are 55 citizens who applied for the firefighter position, but KPC has not yet issued an official response on the applications.
The bureau stressed the need to expedite the job application response before awarding the aforementioned tender, and to ensure there are actual vacancies for these jobs.
