Increase In Sheep Prices

The prices of sheep are increasing on a daily basis with the advent of Eid Al-Adha. During a tour of the sheep market in Jahra area, the daily met a number of sheep sellers. Shafeeq, one of the sheep sellers, revealed that the market is good and the sheep prices are increasing.

He explained that the cost of Neaimi sheep ranges between KD 115 and KD 150. Kuwaiti Neaimi is more expensive than the Jordanian Neaimi. Another sheep seller Bashaer Abdulrahman explained the Shavali sheep costs KD 90 while the Neaimi costs KD 120-KD 130.

The cost of Jordanian Neaimi is between KD 110 and KD 115. He revealed that the number of Neaimi sheep is lesser this year compared to previous years. Abdulrahman lamented that they sometimes come across people who pretend to be officers from the Criminal Investigations Department and search them and take their money.

Another sheep seller Mohammad Shihab said the sheep prices range from KD 90 to KD 150 depending on the weight and type of sheep. Another seller Ahmad indicated that the prices of sheep will continue to increase until the day of Waqfa and Eid Al-Adha holidays.
