Fashionista Must Be Imprisoned

17 November 2021 Crime News

The Civil Section in the Court of Appeals upheld the decision of a lower court, which obligated a ‘fashionista’ to pay compensation of KD80,000 to a prosecutor after the issuance of a final ruling to imprison her for one month for insulting the prosecutor through an audio recording that went viral on social media.

The Court of Cassation then ruled that the ‘fashionista’ must be imprisoned for one month for insulting members of the Public Prosecution – a period she already spent in prison. This came after the Misdemeanor Section in the Court of Appeals canceled the previous ruling on imprisoning the ‘fashionista’ for one year with hard labor and fining her KD1,000. The court later issued a decision on her imprisonment for three months with hard labor.
