Enhance The Role Of Imams Preachers And Muezzins
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Mohammad Nasser Al-Jabri affirmed that the roles of imams, muezzins and preachers who deliver religious sermons are religious missions of honor, appreciation and praise, stressing that, “The daises of mosques play a vital role in social reform and curbing extremism based on moderate religious order”, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
During his meeting with representatives from the union of imams, muezzins and religious preachers, Al-Jabri indicated that the role of mosques is not limited to just prayers and Friday sermons but it also includes religious sessions, academic courses, and religious and cultural teachings.
Regarding the proposals presented by the union, the minister stressed his keenness to enhance the role of imams, preachers and muezzins in a bid to cement the pioneering role of mosques in the Kuwaiti society
At the end of the meeting, Al-Jabri praised the role of the union and its efforts to follow up issues that would encourage and motivate youths in seeking religious employments.
