Drug Pills Seized From A Three-man Gang
General Department of Public Relations and Media Security at the Ministry of Interior announced that officers from the Drug Control Department nailed a three-man gang in possession of a large quantity of illicit pills known in the market as Captagon, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Anti-narcotics men received a tip-off regarding the activities of a 29-year-old expatriate trading in illicit drugs, and a team of detectives was formed to gather necessary information and verify validity of the report.
Guarded by search and arrest warrant, members of team stormed the residence of the suspect in Khaitan area, seized 153,000 pills of Captagon, and arrested the suspect along with his accomplice. The duo admitted the crime and confessed to obtaining illicit pills from a Kuwaiti ex-convict who’s into drug trafficking and liquor smuggling.
The officers managed to arrest the third suspect (Kuwaiti ex-convict) in Kabad area in possession of an unlicensed firearm. He led the officers to a stable in Jahra area that served as storage for illicit drugs. Further search led to the recovery of additional 100,000 pills of Captagon. He confessed to smuggling the substance from a neighboring country. All three suspects have since been referred to the concerned authority for legal action.
