The Minister of the Interior, Anas Al-Saleh, explained that what was received from the records last February is related to the Malaysian fund only with a transcript of it.

In his Twitter account, Al-Saleh indicated that he had taken all measures to form investigation committees, and the file was transferred to the Audit Bureau, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Investigation Unit, indicating that the file is currently in the Public Prosecution.

He said, "The government sent the recordings to the National Assembly and voted with the request to form a parliamentary investigation committee into the matter, and to announce all of this with transparency."

Al-Saleh added, "As for the recent leaked recordings, which date back to the year 2018, they took action immediately after I became aware of them recently."

He concluded: "We are awaiting the final results in the coming hours regarding the eavesdropping, which is totally unacceptable behavior.
