Cosmetics Shop Closed For Selling Expired Products

01 September 2022 Kuwait

Inspectors from the Ministry of Trade and Industry closed down a store that engaged in commercial fraud. After an investigation, the beauty store, which offered cosmetic drugs and cosmetic contact lenses, was closed down. Close inspection revealed that the store was selling a substantial volume of outdated cosmetics and medical products that did not contain the required labels from the place of origin. The items were found in violation of proper label placement and deceptive product descriptions meant to fool consumers.

An Arab newspaper revealed that a substantial number of products, mainly medical and cosmetic lenses, did not include the manufacturer's address and had expired while still being offered in the store. The commercial control team seized the products in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, allowing competent authorities to assess the samples and pursue legal action against the violation.
