Twitter Stops Identifying The Type Of Phone In Tweets

As of Sunday, Twitter will no longer specify the type of smartphone from which tweets are published. Users will not see the phrase "Twitter for iPhone," "Twitter for Android," or even "Twitter for the Web" in any published tweet under the new procedure.

Elon Musk, Twitter's new director, said last month that the company will "finally stop adding the device on which a tweet is posted," calling the practice a "waste of screen space and account."

In response to a user's tweet in November, he wrote: "We'll finally stop adding devices from which tweets were written." He added: "We don't even know why we're doing this."

Elon Musk announced last week that his company 'Twitter' will increase the character limit from 280 to 4,000 in its publications.

The social media platform will soon allow users to post long posts, Musk said on November 6.
