Kuwait's Burj Mubarak To Become World's Tallest Tower In Silk City
Kuwait is set to host the "world's tallest tower" – the Burj Mubarak – as the centerpiece of its Madinat Al Hareer, or Silk City. The one-kilometer tall tower will be the main attraction, drawing attention from around the world.
The ambitious Burj Mubarak megaproject will consist of three interlocking, twisting structures designed to withstand winds of up to 150 mph and the resulting vibrations. The tower will feature 234 floors and have the capacity to accommodate 7,000 people.
Burj Mubarak's height is said to be an intentional tribute to the famous collection of folk tales, "1001 Arabian Nights." Once completed, it will surpass the current tallest building, Dubai's Burj Khalifa, which stands at 828 meters.
The tower will also house seven vertical villages, encompassing hotels, residences, offices, and entertainment amenities. Madinat Al Hareer is expected to bring significant investment to the city, amounting to KD 25 billion, and have a positive impact on the national economy by diversifying income streams.
The project is estimated to create 430,000 jobs for locals and provide investment opportunities for both local and foreign investors. It will involve a strategic partnership between the public and private sectors, contributing to an architectural boom in the region.
Madinat Al Hareer will be designed to accommodate over 700,000 people, with four distinct quarters, each having its own city center. Finance City, Leisure City, Ecological City, and Residential City will offer global standards of living, with a focus on educational and cultural amenities, providing an integrated solution for a modern community.
