Total Omicron Cases In Europe Reach 582

Total number of cases infected with the latest strain of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Omicron, in Europe has hit 582. As of Friday (December 10), 180 additional Omicron variant of concern cases have been confirmed in the European Union and European Economic Area, contributing to an overall total of 582 confirmed cases so far, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported on Saturday.

Confirmed cases have been reported by 21 European countries, it said in a statement. All cases for which there is available information on severity were either asymptomatic or mild.
