The Jleeb Situation Is A Disaster
A tender will be launched by the Ministry of Public Works for the treatment of sewage in Mutlaa, Jleeb and South Abdullah Al-Mubarak using mobile treatment units, which will be temporarily installed in those areas until they are connected to the main sewer system, reports Aljarida daily. According to sources from the ministry, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh is a disaster due to its dilapidated sewage network.
There will be treatment units installed to deal with the surplus of sewage water. The estimated volume of wastewater generated from that area is estimated at 24 thousand cubic meters of water per day, which will be treated by these mobile treatment units.
In the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, nine areas will be used to build about 24 treatment plants to deal with excess sewage. To preserve the marine environment and prevent sewage pollutants from reaching it, the municipality ensures care in following up the rainwater network and preventing encroachment on it.
According to the sources, the tender should be floated within the next two months. It aims to preserve the environment in those areas by converting wastewater into triple-filtered water for irrigation.
