Stranded Students Fate In Limbo
The fate of a number of 12th grade students who are stranded in their countries remain unknown after the Ministry of Education decided to hold endof- year exams in the traditional paper-based manner. However, educational sources revealed that the ministry is studying a proposal submitted by a number of educators to allocate special exams for these students to be held in mid-September or beginning of October, reports Aljarida daily.
The sources explained that this proposal will be studied and decided upon during the coming period. The ministry will take the interest of students into consideration, especially since they are in the final year, are about to graduate high school, and have opportunities to enroll for their university education, but there are deadlines for admission to these universities. In the event that the proposal is approved, the ministry will set controls for the students to take the special exams, such as the student has to submit evidence that he was not present in the country during the period when the first-round and second-round exams are held.
On the other hand, the Director General of Hawally Educational Zone Walid bin Ghaith announced the launch of virtual learners’ care centers, and the start of lessons for 12th grade students of science and arts sections in the schools of Hawally Governorate. He explained that the centers will operate from Saturday to Thursday, and 60 revising lessons of the main subjects will be presented, which is five lessons per day over a period of two weeks. The educational zone is keen to provide this free service for students to help them revise their lessons and solve questions from the 12th grade exam banks in order to enhance students’ educational attainment and enable them to better understand the lessons. Due to the technical orientation of the study materials, the best teachers were chosen to give these lessons, in addition to their daily follow-up of the centers’ work.
