Ministry Of Education Kuwait Enforces Salary Freeze Over Fingerprint Inaction

The Ministry of Education has initiated stringent measures to ensure compliance with attendance procedures among teachers and administrators. Following non-compliance with the Ministry's deadline for activating attendance and departure fingerprints, instructions were issued to suspend the salaries of those who failed to adhere. Educational sources disclosed to Al-Jarida that salaries of school personnel not adhering to the fingerprinting requirement will remain suspended until completion of the process, with salaries reinstated upon compliance.

Simultaneously, concerns have arisen regarding student absenteeism, reaching as high as 80 percent recently. Responding to this challenge, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conducted visits to several schools to assess attendance and directed the honoring of committed students to promote punctuality.

During his visits, Minister Al-Adwani expressed appreciation to students upholding their commitment to attendance. He commended school administrations for fostering an engaging learning environment conducive to continuous student attendance and learning. Al-Adwani stressed the importance of commitment, care, and follow-up as essential traits of successful students, aligning with the Ministry's objectives to empower students with knowledge and excellence.

The Minister's visits aimed to provide moral support to students and school administrations, emphasizing the significance of honoring committed students to reinforce educational dedication. Additionally, Al-Adwani engaged with school principals and educational district leaders to strategize combatting absenteeism and nurturing an enriching learning environment.

In another development, Dr. Salman Al-Lafi, Assistant Undersecretary for Special and Specific Education, chaired a meeting to discuss curriculum development for individuals with disabilities. The meeting addressed the inclusion of academic subjects such as computers and the English language for students with mental disabilities within Special Education Department schools. Attendees included Hessa Al-Mutawa, acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education, Anwar Al-Hamdan, acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Research and Curricula, Mahmoud Abdel-Rida, acting Director of Special Education Schools Administration, and subject mentors.
