Speakers Of The Indonesian And Kuwaiti Parliaments Seek Closer Ties

Marzouq Al-Ghanim, the speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, met with Puan Maharani, its Indonesian counterpart.

In an informal meeting on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union's 144th session, Kuwaiti Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim met with Indonesian counterpart Puan Maharani to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral parliamentary relations.

The pair discussed recent events in the Middle East and their repercussions, as well as the importance of increasing parliamentary efforts to find a unified position on this issue.

The Indonesian President was thanked by Al-Ghanim for hosting the IPU conference according to a statement to Al-Dustour News Network.

In addition to AbdulWahab Al-Saqer of Kuwait, Kuwait's ambassador to Indonesia attended the meeting. Last Friday, Al-Ghanim and his delegation arrived in Bali, Indonesia, for a conference that is scheduled to last until Thursday.
