Public Authority For Food And Nutrition Destroyed 120 Cartons Of Expired Food Items
Public Authority for Food and Nutrition destroyed 120 cartons of expired food items that weigh 45 kilograms and issued 24 citations and ten undertakings during an inspection drive in Hawally, Capital and Farwaniya Governorates.
Director of Capital Inspection Department Abdulrahman Al-Faris affirmed the inspection tour on various shops that sell food items in Shuwaikh Industrial Area resulted in destruction of 120 cartons of food items, and issuance of four citations and six undertakings for violation of general hygiene and health conditions.
;In Hawally Governorate, Director of Inspection Department Ali Al-Kandari said the inspection tour conducted by the department in Salmiya, Hawally and Maidan Hawally areas resulted in issuance of 17 citations and 4 undertakings.
He revealed that the violations for which citations were issued varied from violations of hygiene during work to employment of workers before obtaining health certificates from concerned authorities.
In Farwaniya Governorate, the inspection tour on restaurants and sheesha cafes resulted in issuance of three citations for selling food items that are not in line with specifications and for encroachments on unlicensed land as well non-compliance with personal and general hygiene standards.
