The Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Abdullah Al Salman has asked the Board of Directors of the Public Authority of Manpower to reconsider a fee of KD 2,000 to renew work permits for expats who have reached the age of 60 and above who are non graduates. The recommendations are made to set a fee for KD 500 in addition to health insurance for the beneficiary.Â
The Public Authority of Manpower board of directors are likely to meet next week to discuss a request made by Dr. Abdullah Al Salman. On the other hand for a large segment of expats who have reached 60 yrs of age and above it is difficult to bear KD 2,000 fee plus health insurance, reports Al Rai. The same proposal in the past had received support from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior but was rejected by the majority of the Council.
