Primary Health Care Sector Is Supposed To Be The First Line Of Defense In Terms Of Protecting Patients Against Lack Of Medical Equipment
The miserable reality in some public medical centers does not reflect the press statements of senior officials at the Ministry of Health about the purported development of medical services, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources.
Sources pointed out the Primary Health Care Sector is supposed to be the first line of defense in terms of protecting patients against lack of medical equipment.
To personally see the deteriorating services in these centers, one should visit Munira Al-Ayar Medical Center in Kaifan where he will observe technical and administrative negligence, in addition to lack of laboratory equipment and sample containers and it even lacks paper and other stationery supplies.
Kaifan Medical Center is also a model of bureaucracy and lack of care for patients although most of them suffer from diabetes and chronic diseases while many of them are old people who usually wait for a long time to be diagnosed and to get medicines.
Sources added people are still waiting for improvement of medical services that they have been hearing from the Ministry of Health. They want to know where the budget of the ministry is spent, considering the medical centers lack even the most basic medical equipment.
