There has been a fire at the Abdullah Al-Salem M station as well as a complete shutdown of the Hawalli A station. The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy promptly responded to this emergency, reported Alanba.
According to the Ministry, the fire at Abdullah Al-Salem M station caused a malfunction in one of its cells, which affected Hawalli station. This disruption resulted in power cuts in various areas, including Al-Mansouriya, Al-Nuzha, parts of Hawalli, Al-Rawdha, Al-Qadisiyah, and the Abdullah Al-Salem suburbs.
Minister of Electricity and Water, Dr. Jassim Al-Astad, personally supervised the restoration efforts at the accident site. The Ministry’s teams worked diligently to ensure power was swiftly restored to the affected regions, utilizing diesel generators as an interim solution.
The fire resulted in only minor material damage, and power was gradually reinstated to all affected areas. Immediately following the incident, the Minister appointed an impartial committee to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident's causes.
