Plan To Open Liberation Tower For Public Visitors
The Ministry of Communications plans to open the Liberation Tower for public and convert the same into an exhibition center for the old telecommunications equipment.
According to Al-Qabas report, authorities formed a committee for this purpose and the committee held its first meeting last week, with the aim of restoring the spirit to the Liberation Tower visitors hall, which is closed to the public about 10 years back.
The new approach aims to transform the hall to receives visitors, photography enthusiasts, school students and others, to enjoy the scenic view of Kuwait City and photograph it from a height of 372 meters. A small fee will be charged after obtaining approvals from the regulators.
As per the plan, a display of old telecommunications equipment of the Ministry of Communications will be setup at the tower entrance.
The liberation tower was officially opened on March 10, 1996. With 372 meters tall, it was the tallest tower in the Arab region and the Gulf, and was the fourth tallest tower in the world at the time of its construction.
