Pam Adds New Titles To Work Permits For Expats

09 March 2022 Expats

To regulate the labor market and prevent marginal workers from obtaining titles that allow them to benefit from various advantages linked to these titles in their work permits, the Public Authority for Manpower has linked more professions of expatriates working in the country to academic qualifications.

These new titles are lifeguard (swimming), diving teacher, scuba diving instructor, water skiing coach, and water skiing supervisor, according to a local Arabic daily citing PAM.

The commission indicated that the person must hold a higher education certificate and a diploma in the relevant discipline in order to be granted these titles.

The number of scientific titles that have been authorized has surpassed 1,800, according to the authority's automated system, and more titles are expected to be added in the near future.

Furthermore, according to an informed source, the names linked are included in the Gulf Manual for Professional Description and Employment, which lists 4,109 professions.

PAM went on to say that work is being done to identify occupational titles in the labor market, link them to automated systems, and assess the need based on the issued licenses, implying that the GCC countries are committed to standardizing the names and symbols of their professions in the labor market.
