No Dependent Visa For Expats Above 18, Unless Pursuing Further Studies

According to Alrai reported that In light of government trends to address demographic imbalances and their impact on the labor market, the Public Authority for Manpower intends to issue a decision prohibiting the granting of work permits to expatriates who hold family entry visas, Article 22, for all groups (sons, daughters and wives), and who wish to convert to work permits in accordance with Article 18, Consequently, children who have completed their studies and have passed the legal age to join the family will be required to leave the country, with the exception of those who are pursuing their university studies.

A responsible source in the Manpower Authority revealed that there is cooperation and follow-up with the Ministry of the Interior to issue decisions in the interest of modifying and organizing the demographic composition.

For his part, a source in the Ministry of Interior stated that in the past, children were given an opportunity up to the age of 21, before they were transferred to work contracts, but now the age will be reduced to 18 years, and then they are required to leave immediately, taking into account the exceptions to study outside Or inside Kuwait, indicating that the decision to leave applies to those who have completed 18 years and did not enroll in school.
