Mof Instructed Its Health Counterpart To Find New Mechanism To Hire Nurses In Moh
Ministry of Finance has instructed Ministry of Health to coordinate with three government institutions for providing nurses to work in hospitals and various health centers, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources. However, they indicated that this is not possible in the near future.
The sources explained that Ministry of Finance instructed its Health counterpart to find a mechanism for coordinating with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), provide the required specialties of medical support services (nursing) to hospitals and facilities of the ministry, and reduce contracts with companies gradually in the future, and provide them with vacancies within the ministry’s budget – contracts clause.
These directives came in the context of the tender to provide medical support services to three groups for a period of five years at a total amount of KD 49.76 million, which is equivalent to KD 9.95 million, annually.
The sources indicated, “The Finance and Health ministries must approach the CSC to coordinate in the future with the Public Authority for Applied Education (PAAET) and Kuwait University, in order to provide the required technical disciplines based on the need of Ministry of Health for these functions”.
Ministry of Health justified its request for the five-year tender with the difficulty for providing technical and medical jobs required by the CSC at the present time and in the near future, because there are no registered job seekers in these disciplines.
The ministry stressed that it needs medical and technical expertise which are provided through contracting with companies, due to the fact that they are trained manpower with familiarity in operating devices and equipment, and are acquainted with protocols within hospitals.
