New Farwaniya Hospital's Emergency Dept. Opened By Kuwait Health Ministry

Kuwait's Health Ministry inaugurated the Emergency Department at the new Farwaniya Hospital on Monday as part of the fourth operational plan. The ER has a capacity of 1,800 patients per day, includes 84 beds and 71 clinics.

Dr. Hanan Rizzouqi, Department Head, told the press the inauguration is in line with Kuwait Vision 2035 as it emphasizes developed infrastructure and high quality healthcare.

He explained that work had already begun on the emergency room, which houses a variety of medical departments, such as internal medicine, ophthalmology, and general surgery.

In addition to being equipped with high-tech medical equipment for providing the best care possible to patients, the department also has triage rooms that will significantly ease crowding, said the doctor.

One of the country's largest medical facilities, the New Farwaniya hospital covers an area of 423,000 square meters.

The hospital prides itself on providing comfortable and caring care to its patients, so around 70 percent of its rooms are private.
