New Courses Are Offered For Nurses And Doctors By Kan
Kuwait Association for Cancer Awareness (KAN) has launched specialized courses for primary care physicians, dentists, and nurses. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Dr. Khalid Al-Saleh, Chairman of the National Cancer Awareness Campaign, announced that these courses will begin in mid-October. The primary goal of these courses is to train primary care physicians, dentists, and nursing staff in effective communication skills with cancer patients and their families.
According to Dr. Khalid Al-Saleh, 1,343 dentists, 1,439 primary care physicians, and 2,551 nursing staff have been trained in early oral cancer detection. These training programs are in line with KAN’s ongoing commitment to cancer awareness, with a particular focus on providing specialized courses for dentists regarding visual examination for oral tumors. Dr. Al-Saleh emphasized the positive results achieved through these training programs.
Moreover, the KAN campaign trains nursing staff in communication skills with patients, especially those with cancer. To provide trainees with a comprehensive understanding of cancer, its stages, prevalence in Kuwait and around the world, diagnostic methods, treatment, prevention, early detection, and recovery rates, an integrated program has been developed and delivered by oncology specialists.
The importance of continuing to offer training courses to primary care physicians on early detection of tumor warning signs was emphasized by Dr. Khalid Al-Saleh. This plays a crucial role in diagnosing tumors in their early stages, contributing to higher recovery rates. Dedicated to promoting the well-being of patients, he expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health for their commitment to training their personnel. Training allows them to enhance their knowledge and acquire skills and expertise that benefit their patient care.
