Municipality Team Seized 115 Kg Expired Foodstuff

The Emergency Team of Ahmadi Municipality removed ten violating camps during wide inspection campaigns in south desert areas of the country. The Public Relations and Media Department of Kuwait Municipality explained in a press statement that the municipal teams will continue monitoring the area on a daily basis to remove violating camps after the specified camping season expired on March 31.

The campaign will continue to clear the desert areas of remnants and garbage resultant from the camping activities. Meanwhile, the department said the Capital Waste Removal Department launched several campaigns on shops, restaurants and warehouses in Sharq, Qibla and Shuwaikh to verify validity of the foodstuffs provided to citizens and residents.

The campaigns resulted in confiscation and destruction of 115 kilograms of expired foodstuffs and issuance of 23 citations. The citations included 17 violations of advertisements and shop licenses and six violations for trading in foodstuffs that are not fir for human consumption.
