Mpw Revealed That Ministry Handed Out Termination Letters To 26 Expat Employees
Undersecretary of Ministry of Public Works Eng. Awatif Al-Ghunaim revealed that the ministry Sunday handed out termination letters to 26 expatriate employees who served for 34 years and more, similar to 61 Kuwaiti employees whose services were terminated recently, reports Al-Qabas daily.
She affirmed that there will be no exceptions in the decision to refer employees for retirement in line with instructions of Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa.
;
Eng Al-Ghunaim explained that the minister insisted to refer any employee – Kuwaiti or expatriate – for retirement by September if they meet the relevant conditions so that young employees can be given a chance to move up the ladder.
She revealed that the number of expatriate employees in the ministry is 700 out of the total 13,000 employees in various sectors of the ministry.
Eng. Al-Ghunaim declared that the ministry next week will submit 13 contracts worth nearly KD 50 million for maintenance of highways and internal roads after meeting the conditions set by the Civil Service Commission in this regard.
