Moh Obtains Approval To Extend The Contracts Of Several Workers
The Ministry of Health has obtained approval from supervisory authorities to extend the contracts of several workers in Sabah, Farwaniya and Jahra health districts for different periods at a total cost KD 2.6 million, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed the decision covers the X-ray, laboratory and pharmacy technicians in Sabah Health District whose contracts will be extended for nine months starting from Jan 5 at a total cost of KD 1.9 million. Sources explained the ministry took this step to ensure continuation of health services for the public without any obstacles and to prevent shortage of support staff.
Sources added the extension of the contracts of support staff with the same designations in Farwaniya and Jahra health districts will be for three months starting from Feb 5 at a total cost of KD 757,000. Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs in the Ministry of Information Eng Nasser Mohaisen has unveiled an integrated media plan for national celebrations, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Speaking to the daily, Mohaisen disclosed that Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri instructed the Engineering Sector to fully prepare for broadcasting activities during national days and Hala February. He affirmed the engineering teams will be in charge of broadcasting on all television and radio stations live from Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village, in addition to the fl ag raising ceremonies in all governorates.
Furthermore, Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Health Mohammad Dowaihi Al-Subaei said 52,725 birth certificates were issued to citizens and expatriates in 2018 — 30,953 Kuwaitis and 21,771 expatriates, reports Al-Anba daily.
Speaking to the daily, Al- Subaei said 3,933 death certificates were issued to citizens and expatriates. Comparing the number of births in 2018 to that in 2017, he disclosed the number of births was higher in 2017 than this year for both Kuwaitis and expatriates. He added 1,784 birth and death certificates were issued to Bedouns in 2018 – 1,650 birth certificates and 134 death certifi- cates. He also confirmed that the new mortality and births center at the Maternity Unit in Sabah Hospital will be inaugurated soon.
