Moe Urged To Use Banks To Pay Terminated Expat Teachers' Dues

30 April 2023 Expats

It has been requested by Kuwait Banking Association that about 2,000 male and female resident teachers covered by the replacement (Kuwaitization) decision have their end-of-service dues deposited with their local banks so that they can collect the dues and maintain their rights, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In its letter to the Ministry of Education, the association explained there are hundreds of expatriate teachers whose services will be terminated by the ministry at the end of the current academic year. If the relevant sectors pay end-of-service dues through other means, it will negatively affect banks' collection of dues.

According to the association, the ministry should provide the names of the employees whose services will be terminated at the end of the academic year, in order to settle their dues in accordance with the applicable legal frameworks.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Health has called on its counterpart in the Ministry of Education to facilitate and encourage schools' participation in "Healthy Cities".

More parts of the country are being involved in this movement, according to the report, reflecting the community's willingness to improve its health conditions, including education in its many forms, including the school environment and activities, the quality of education, along with communication with the community and parents.
