Moe To Announce End Of First Semester & Mid-year Vacation
The Ministry of Education’s distance education will, on the 14th of this month, announce the end of the first semester for 2020-2021 in the three educational stages, and the start of the midyear vacation, starting from next Thursday until March 1.
The sources revealed the amendment related to working hours and school holidays has not been resolved yet, especially after the minister of education canceled the paper exams, which were supposed to start on Jan 25 and last for ten days, and then the educational bodies continue to work to monitor grades and issue certificates, provided that the mid-year vacation begins from Feb 14 to Feb 24, and schools resume on March 1 after the National Day and Liberation Day holidays, bringing the total of holidays to 14.
The sources explained that the period of paper-based exams may be replaced by three scenarios – electronic tests conducted instead of paper tests, continuation to study for an evaluation and reducing the holiday period by amending Resolution No. 1 to be from January 25 to February 14.
In a different context, the Ministry of Education granted school districts and various sectors a deadline until February 14 to complete the competency assessment for employees in preparation for the start of the selection procedure, which includes only 10 percent of those who are eligible and applies to all grades and programs.
The sources confirmed that the administrative sector has finished storing seniority degrees and the periodic bonus for about 22,000 male and female employees.
Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Faisal Al-Maqsid, has issued a general bulletin regarding the launch of the Administrative Affairs and Administrative Development Sector in cooperation with the Information Systems Department, the electronic services portal for social allowance, as this service allows all the ministry employees to update and add the allowance of all kinds through the link: https://eservices. moe.edu.kw/hr.
