Ministry Of Electricity And Water Collects Kd 76.531m In Revenues
During the past nine months the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) collected 76.531 million dinars in revenues at a collection rate of 15 percent, compared to the total estimated due amount which is put at 496 million dinars for providing electricity water, and the supply of electricity to new customers and other services in all types of housing, since the beginning of the budget from last April until January of this year.
The latest report from the Ministry of Finance for January indicated the total expenditures of the ministry on all items during the same period was 1.497 billion dinars, with a spending ratio of 58.9 percent compared to the total amount approved for the ministry’s budget, which is estimated at 2.543 billion dinars.
The report indicated the ministry spent 260 million dinars on compensation for its employees during the same period, with a spending ratio of 55.2 percent compared to the amount 471.4 million dinars approved to cover the salaries, allowances and bonuses for employees.
The report pointed out the ministry has spent during the same period 1.139 billion dinars on goods and services, at a spending rate of 75.1 percent compared to 1.515 billion dinars which is the approved amount to spend on the purchase of oil and fuel for operating the ministry’s power stations and water distillation plants.
