Minister Stresses Ensuring Food Security Sustainability And The Flow Of Global Supply Chains
The Minister of Trade and Industry Abdullah Al-Joaan stressed the necessity of working as per World Trade Organization guidelines for the sustainability of food security and the flow of global supply chains.
In a statement he made to KUNA at the launch of the 13th Ministerial Conference of the Arab Trade Organization, hosted by the UAE, Al-Joaan stressed that Kuwait is committed to the multilateral trading system and is ready to work constructively with all member states to make the conference a success, as well as enhance confidence in the pivotal role of the World Trade Organization, in light of the unprecedented challenges the world faces.
He pointed out that the role of the private sector of member states in driving comprehensive and sustainable economic growth is no less important than the role of governments by intensifying their efforts to achieve a fairer, comprehensive and sustainable trade system.
He expressed hope that member states would work to develop the salient features to provide valuable exports to national economies and create a creative business environment for the sustainability of small and emerging companies and entrepreneurship. This in turn would result in promoting innovation and increasing intra-regional exports.
Kuwait is represented at the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization in Abu Dhabi by an official delegation headed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Al-Joaan, and includes the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ziyad Al-Najem, and the Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Industry, Mohammed Al-Adwani.
