Food Authority In Kuwait Clears Quaker Oat Products Amidst Salmonella Concerns

23 December 2023 Food

The Food and Nutrition Public Authority in Kuwait has officially declared that all oat products under the brand Quaker have undergone thorough examination, confirming their safety for human consumption and ruling out any presence of salmonella bacteria. This announcement comes in response to recent concerns raised by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding potential contamination in Quaker brand oat products manufactured in the United States.

In a press release issued on Friday, the authority clarified that the FDA's warning specifically pertains to products with expiration dates falling before January 9, March 12, June 3, August 2, September 1, or October 1, 2024. The Food and Nutrition Authority assured consumers that oat products bearing these expiration dates have not been imported into Kuwait.

Emphasizing consumer safety, the authority highlighted that the oat products from the same brand available in Kuwaiti markets have undergone comprehensive examination. The results affirm that these products are entirely suitable for human consumption, providing reassurance to the public.
