Livestock Co Says To Provide 120,000 Herds Of Aussie Sheep And 250 Calves In Ramadan
Livestock Transport and Trading Company (Al-Mawashi) is set for the month of Ramadan in all perspectives, and guarantees the provision of roughly 120,000 herds of Australian sheep and 250 calves to cover any increase in market demand, reports Al-Wasat daily.
Chief Executive Officer Engineer Osama Boodai was quoted as saying the company has scheduled trips to transport herds of sheep and cattle in a well organized manner. He added the trips will start ahead of Ramadan and continue until the end of the holy month to ensure all market demands are catered for. He noted the company will usher in Ramadan with the opening of an ultramodern Capital Abattoir project and Livestock Market.
The project is the largest in Kuwait in terms of building and production capacity. It’s located on 94,000 square/meters area at a total cost of KD 16 million (almost $52.8 million). He reaffirmed the Capital Abattoir will create several jobs for Kuwaitis in administrative, technical and vocational specialties. He stated the company has been playing a leading role with ambitious Kuwaiti hands within the past 44 years and that the abattoir is capable of accommodating 6,400 herds per shift, and could contain 18,000 herds of sheep, cattle and camels per day.
