Kuwaiti Lawyers Prepare For 'tik Tok' Ban
A trial date has been set for Dec 3, 2023, for the Administrative Court to review the lawsuit to ban the ‘Tik Tok’ application in Kuwait so that the government lawyer can prepare a response.
A lawsuit filed with the Administrative Court requests that the "Tik Tok" website and App be blocked in Kuwait since it publishes materials that contradict Kuwaiti morals, customs and traditions.
In his lawsuit, the plaintiff stated that "the Telecommunications Authority law authorizes the Authority to block any electronic application that violates state laws."
Specifically, the lawsuit alleges that the application broadcasts clips that violate morals and promote violence and bullying, violating Kuwaiti laws, most notably the Child Rights Law.
