International Flights To Resume In India From March 27

08 March 2022 Travel

The Indian government will resume scheduled international flights on March 27 after being suspended for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In March 2020, the first cases of Covid were detected globally, which led to the suspension of international flights.

Earlier attempts to resume international flights were thwarted by rising Covid cases each time. There was an announcement that gradual resume of operations would begin on December 15, 2021, however this date was delayed due to the onset of Omicron Covid.

The government had also been discussing resuming flights on March 15, however the war between Russia and Ukraine forced the extension of the flight ban.
