"Till further orders", the civil aviation regulator said on Monday that international passenger flights have been suspended in the country. A suspension until February 28 was extended on January 19.

The Indian government cancelled all scheduled international passenger flights after the Coronavirus outbreak on March 23, 2020. The air bubble arrangement with India has enabled India to operate special passenger flights between 45 countries since July 2020.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Monday, the authority announced that passenger services from and to India would continue to be suspended until further notice. A DGCA-approved flight or an international all-cargo flight are exempt from the restriction.

This circular stated that air bubble flights are not affected.

Indian scheduled international passenger flights will resume from December 15, 2021, as the DGCA announced on November 26, 2021. Following the growing concern regarding the Covid-19 variant Omicron, Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested that the Civil Aviation Ministry and DGCA review its decision.

DGCA removed its November 26 decision from its website on December 1, 2021, without doing so with an indication of how long international flights would remain suspended.
