In 2021, Kuwait Bounced Cheques Worth Kd 107 Million

In Kuwait, 3,456 cheques bounced in 2021 due to insufficient bank balances, according to official data.

According to Al-Anba, 2,422 citizens and residents issued cheques between January 1 and December 31, 2021.

According to data released by Kuwait's Central Bank, 1,698 cheques were presented by 1,245 clients in the first half of the year, and 1,758 cheques were presented by 1,177 customers in the second half of the year.

The total value of the cheques returned due to insufficient funds in the issuers' accounts was around 107 million dinars, with 24.1 million dinars issued in the first six months of the year, and 82.8 million dinars issued in the second half of the year.
