Flights From Rome, Malaga And Barcelona To Bring Back Citizens
Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced the launch of three flights , Friday, for the return of Kuwaitis from Malaga, Barcelona, London and Rome. The flights have been organized in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior and under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.
Kuwait Airways will bring back Kuwaiti citizens stranded in these cities in coordination with the Kuwait embassies there. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been keen to bring back Kuwaitis from all over the world and ensure their safe return.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al Nasser Al Sabah said that the evacuation of Kuwaitis depended on the success of the governments’ anti-coronavirus measures. Special flights have already brought back Kuwaitis from Beirut, Cairo, Manama, Frankfurt, London and Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Ahmed said that Kuwaiti missions have been working day and night to arrange for flights to return Kuwaitis, and it is estimated that there are 60,000 Kuwaitis in 11 destinations. The Kuwait government is arranging their return as part of a national evacuation plan.
