Fine For Throwing The Waste In Public Places
Arabic local newspaper Alanba reported that The Environment Public Authority is implementing an extensive media campaign to urge those who visit beaches and desert areas to maintain public hygiene and not to throw waste in other places.
Informed environmental sources said that, in conjunction with the campaign, which includes several awareness posters on the importance of cleaning the place after the screenings made by citizens and residents, they emphasized the organization of continuous inspection campaigns to monitor different sites for inspection in order to follow environmental requirements.
The sources warned that throwing the waste in other places would expose the perpetrators to violations and financial penalties in accordance with Article 33 of the Environmental Law, with its amendments, which prohibits “throwing garbage or waste of any kind except in the containers designated for this.” Not less than 50 dinars and not more than 500 dinars.
The sources pointed out that the municipality is, in turn, setting up waste dumpsites, pointing out that the role of citizens and residents is to work to remove their waste and not leave it in place.
