Despite “corona” Deaths Decreased In 2020
A statistic obtained showed a decrease in the number of deaths among Kuwaiti citizen in past five months in compared to the number of deaths during the same months in the past two years ie. 2018 and 2019.
According to the statistical figures, which were prepared from obituary in Kuwait newspapers for the first five months of 2018, 2019 and 2020, the total deaths of Kuwaiti citizens during the months of January, February, March, April and May were 812 deaths compared to 1043 deaths in the same months last year 2019 , And 1039 Kuwaiti deaths in the same months of 2018.
MP Ahmed Al-Fadl said that the reason for this decrease is the decrease in road accidents in the past months, during which the country witnessed a partial and comprehensive bans in addition to applying isolation of many areas of the country which are densely populated.
Despite what some may think there has been an increase in the number of Kuwaiti citizens ’deaths during the past five months, especially due to Corona crisis in the country but the reality is quite the opposite.
What is remarkable in the statistics is that April was the lowest of the five recorded months of the number of deaths among Kuwaitis during this year and the past two years.
January – April
In figures, the month of April recorded the death of only 120 Kuwaiti citizens, and the same month of last year 2019 had registered the death of 216 citizens, compared to the death of 196 citizens in April 2018.
In contrast, January was the highest record of deaths, as last January it recorded the death of 193 Kuwaiti citizens, compared to registering an equal number, which was the death of 244 citizens during January 2019 and January 2018.
