Cracks Down On Offensive Electronic Screens On Vehicles

10 December 2023 Crime News

In a recent warning, the General Traffic Department cautioned motorists against electronic panels attached to the rear windows of cars, which display offensive language and degrading images. Residents and citizens reported this peculiar phenomenon, prompting the Traffic Operations Department to issue an alert. Major General Yousef Al-Kidama, Director General of the General Traffic Department, promptly addressed the issue upon receiving these reports, according to Major Abdullah Bu Hassan, Officer of the Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department.

In accordance with Bu Hassan, electronic screens displaying content that violates public morals are strictly prohibited. Any vehicle found with unofficial writings, stickers, flags, pictures, or slogans indicating a class, sect, or group, excluding official symbols of the country and the Kuwaiti flag, will be subject to legal action. According to Bu Hassan, patrols have been instructed to seize any vehicle equipped with such electronic screens. In addition to referral to the traffic police, the vehicle itself will be impounded. Furthermore, if the driver uses offensive language or displays images that violate public morals, they will be referred to the police station and a case will be filed against them. A traffic violation subject to strict enforcement measures is what Bu Hassan warned drivers against installing these panels.
