20 October 2021 Kuwait

The people in Kuwait are waiting to hear the good news from the Council of Ministers which continues to discuss the topics reviewed during past meetings, foremost of which is the recommendations of the Supreme Committee for Corona Emergencies for a complete return to normal life, given the vast improvement in the epidemiological situation.

Government sources told Al-Rai the Council will discuss in its session the return of worshippers to mosques without any restrictions, opening the airport for all flights, opening the door for granting visas, face mask-free movement in open places, and giving nod to holding seminars and conferences, wedding ceremonies and similar gatherings.

However, the full openness is expected to be accompanied by continued adherence to health requirements such as social distancing and wearing masks in closed places.

The sources indicated the issue of full and likely return of students to schools is expected to coincide with the beginning of the second semester. However, the issue is the subject of discussions between the two ministries – Education and Health — based on assessment indicators of the first weeks return to schools.
