08 February 2024 Sahel App

The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) is gearing up to launch its latest service, "Aman," aimed at tackling electronic fraud and phishing attempts. Youssef Kazim, the official spokesperson for the unified government application for electronic services, known as "Sahel," made the announcement.

Under the directives of the Council of Ministers and key ministers including the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and the Minister of State for Communications Affairs, CITRA is preparing to introduce the "Aman" service. This initiative empowers individuals, including citizens and residents, to report instances of fraud and electronic phishing directly through the "Sahel" application.

Kazim detailed that the "Aman" service will be easily accessible within the "Services" section of the CITRA on the "Sahel" application. Its primary goal is to enable users to report various forms of electronic phishing attempts, such as fraudulent messages, fake calls, or deceptive images. Additionally, the service will monitor electronic fraud encountered through text messages, voice calls, websites, electronic platforms, or any other suspicious means.

To utilize the "Aman" service, users of the "Sahel" application must register relevant data and upload supporting attachments or information verifying instances of fraud or electronic phishing. This information will enable CITRA to collaborate with relevant authorities and take necessary actions to effectively address fraudulent activities.
